Telegram is one of the largest open publishing networks on the planet, yet the way most directories represent it has not changed in a decade — long lists of unverified usernames, dead channels left to rot, and categories so broad they tell you nothing. Jurowl is our attempt at the opposite: a directory that treats each channel as something worth a closer look.
We index public Telegram channels and groups, then enrich each entry with the kind of detail a careful reader would want before subscribing: what the channel is actually about, who it is for, how often it posts, whether anyone is still reading, and how it compares to similar channels in the same category and country.
The site is in English for now. Channels themselves are global, in dozens of languages and countries. Localised interfaces will follow.
- 01Submission or discovery
Anyone can submit a channel from the submit form. We also discover channels through our own crawling pipeline, weighted toward channels that look active.
- 02Telegram verification
Every entry is checked against the Telegram Bot API. We pull the canonical title, description, photo, member count, and channel-vs-group distinction. Anything that no longer resolves on Telegram is dropped.
- 03Categorization & metadata
Each channel is mapped into one of our categories, tagged with its primary language and country, and given an audience profile. Where the channel has a public web preview, we read the last twenty posts to compute posting cadence, active hours, weekday rhythm, top hashtags, and engagement rate.
- 04Editorial enrichment
We add a short tagline, a long-form description, the topics covered, what readers can expect to find, and a small set of frequently asked questions — written specifically for that channel rather than generated from a template.
- 05Continuous monitoring
Subscriber counts, last-post timestamps, and engagement rates are refreshed on a schedule. Channels that go silent are marked inactive; channels that die are removed.
We do not pay channel owners to inflate rankings. Rankings on Jurowl are derived from subscriber count, recent growth, posting consistency, and engagement — not from anyone's budget.
We do not index private channels, invite-only links, or channels that exist primarily to traffic illegal content. We respect Telegram's terms and the law of the jurisdictions we operate in.
We do not track readers across the web for advertising. The site uses minimal first-party analytics (page views and search queries in aggregate), described in our privacy policy.
For corrections, removals, partnerships, or anything else: write to [email protected].
If your channel is listed and you would like to update its description, claim it, or have it removed, please write from an address that demonstrates ownership of the channel (for example, an admin contact referenced on the channel itself).
